As part of their ongoing development, Anja, Jordan, Millie and Dawn paid a recent visit to two projects on site in Chester. On their return, we asked the whole team a question: What's the most important thing you've learned from visiting building sites?
Here are our responses:
Adam: Drawings and specifications are often treated on site ‘as a guide’ only.
Jordan: Developing confidence in front of builders is really important.
Andy: Computer drawings are often more accurate than they need to be.
Dawn: Check what’s in the skip.
Randal: Wear your hard hat.
Liam: Only a few people on site have looked at the drawings.
Anja: Don’t be afraid to ask questions of the builder. You will learn things.
Dee Banks
Up first was Dee Banks, which involves the complete remodelling and enlargement of a house with stunning views of the River Dee.
15-23 Frodsham Street, Chester
They then visited Frodsham Street which is a somewhat different project involving the change of use and refurbishment of three Grade II listed buildings in Chester city centre.
